environment of an international school. We are currently seeking a
part time Lab Assistant, for middle and high school, at our upper
campus. The individual in this position assists science teachers in
the preparation and implementation of classroom experiments and
students' labs. Job duties include but are not limited to the
following: Test out new laboratory experiments in biology,
chemistry and physics prior to classroom implementation. Assist
with the setting up to include but not limited to cleaning and
calibrating equipment, preparing samples/ specimens, and measuring/
preparing compounds and solutions. Assist with cleaning up of labs
to include but not limited to coordinating waste management and its
proper disposal. Ensure all equipment is labeled, organized, and
clean. Assist in the caring of organisms. Adhere to correct
procedures, policies and health/ safety guidelines and assist
teachers in helping students observe safety precautions during
labs. Assist students in usage of laboratory equipment (for example
during IB IA experiment) Assist the teacher during lab session,
provide technical assistance to students, and general supervision
of students during labs as needed. Maintain inventory to include
restocking lab materials, reagents, etc.; ensuring that all
necessary materials and equipment are on hand when needed;
informing science teachers when new supplies and equipment are
needed; and assisting with ordering. Help with displaying projects
on boards in the science hallway. Help organize science events such
as the science fair. Skills Requirement: An aptitude for the
sciences, especially biology, chemistry, and physics Outstanding

presentation skills Ability to mentor and coach students Highly
developed collaborative leadership skills and the ability to work
well with and through others Ability to foster and maintain a

and coordinate a working team in the accomplishment of a project
Knowledge of school's education system (IP and FP) and its
challenges; knowledge required to set up lab in line with
curricula; equipment, products, and standards in application; and
health and safety rules and regulations Know how to adapt the
experiment to the equipment and products available; diagnose the
origin of a breakdown; ensure routine maintenance of tools and work
environment; and pass on knowledge Personal skills to include
teamwork, adaptability, attention to detail, reliability,
interpersonal skills Be open and willing to participate in ongoing
training Minimum Qualifications: Associate's degree in biology,
chemistry, physics and/ or related area. Minimum 3-5 years as a lab
assistant. Familiarity with laboratory equipment. Accuracy and
close attention to detail. Strong analytical judgment. Bilingual
French language skills. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree
in biology, chemistry, physics and/ or related area. 5-7 years
