Thank you for having interest in our employment opportunities.REQ NUMBER: ENV-22-00005CATEGORY: Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS)EXEMPT/NON-EXEMPT: Non-ExemptFULL-TIME/PART-TIME: Full-TimeNUMBER OF OPENINGS: 1SHIFT: Rotating Days and NightsPOSITION: Environmental Health & Safety Technician/EHS Coordinator DescriptionUnder the direction of the Manager, Environmental, Health & Safety, the EHS Technician would assist and/or organize the development and implementation of EHS related programs and systems (compliance/management, etc.). This position establishes and promotes the maintenance of safe and healthy working conditions, develops environmental protection methods based upon current industry technology & best available practices to ensure environmental compliance objectives are met, and recommends measures to reduce environmental and safety risks and the impact to manufacturing operations.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Promote a Safety-First culture within the company through frequent interaction with management and all line personnel; acts as the Plant resource for related EH&S information on procedures, guidelines and standards; serves as plant contact for Environmental, IH, and Health and Safety issues Perform boots on the ground safety oversight by identifying and correcting work place hazards and unsafe conditions Conducts and tracks EHS core programs by assisting with presenting safety training, 1:1 training with team members, site audits, and ensure implementation and adherence of EHS policies Provide response and documentation of the Company's near miss reporting program, using the data to update training and other measures as needed to lower risk to employees and the Company Investigates accidents at the facility as necessary and assists in major incidents within the unit to ensure risks are addressed and problems are rectified; report all accidents, occupational illnesses and emergencies Assist in developing and facilitating EHS training and communication programs as well as assist in the administration and delivery of the PPE program Tracks corrective actions taken in response to mishaps and incidents Assist the Environmental Health & Safety Manager with the following: Perform department specific safety surveys using inspection forms to ensure employees are utilizing safe work practices such as utilizing proper PPE, wearing fall protection, minimizing hazards, etc. Performs/coordinates certain Environmental, and IH monitoring, data collection, analyzing and reporting for the Plant Perform tasks related to Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) regulatory hazardous waste handling, storage and disposal requirements Internal procedures and processes created to meet the requirements and standards as outlined by OSHA and EPA Conduct job hazard analysis and PPE assessments Monitor employee exposure to job and chemical hazards Assist in administering the site Industrial Hygiene program Assist in responding and providing information to any Safety and Environmental agencies or clients reviewing/auditing our safety program Ensure the site fire prevention plan is being enforced Inspect and restock COVID-19 PPE stations around the facility Responsible for hazardous and non-hazardous waste management Update and administer adherence to the Spill Prevention Control Countermeasures (SPCC) plan Stay up to date and inform leadership of new and proposed environmental laws and regulations Assist in testing and training teams on the safety contingency plans and facility evacuation plans; assists with ensuring compliance with emergency prevention procedures and operational controls; Perform inspections of the sites emergency response equipment Conduct, facilitate and/or coordinate employee safety and environmental training programs and emergency response training drills Complete and maintain required safety logs and reports Maintain plant safety statistics and submits reports of performance as requested Coordinate with sub-contractors to prepare required permit applications, compliance reports, and safety plans Record, complete accordingly and track company EPA hazardous waste records and SDS records and post appropriate labels/signage Prevent and solve workplace safety issues Follow all Health & Safety and Environmental requirements that are defined on work instructions or communicated in trainingResponsibilities of all Envases Employees: Commit to ensuring the health/wellness of our employees and product Ensure the jobs/operations are completely safely to protect employees and to ensure the sustainability of company equipment/machinery Ensure the security of the workforce and sustain any client confidentiality requests Deliver timely and efficiently without hindering quality of services and work to ensure the team's success in meeting our client delivery schedules Team centered to perform your job successfully while identifying ways to help others be successful too; takes action to complete additional work that is beneficial to the team without being instructed POSITION REQUIREMENTS: EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Required - High School Diploma, GED or equivalent Prefer - Bachelor of Science degree with an emphasis in Occupational Health and Safety, Safety Engineering or relevant field of study; Prefer - Associates Degree in Occupational Health and Safety Minimum 4 years' experience implementing and overseeing aspects related to the environmental, health and safety program Proven track record of providing safety support at an organization > 50 people with field staff Knowledge of manufacturing equipment, controls and maintenance programs preferred GENERAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE: Strong knowledge and experience in interpreting, applying and documenting federal, state and local safety; transportation and environmental regulations General knowledge in Environmental Hazards and Safety disciplines with experience in safety, ergonomics, environmental compliance, industrial hygiene and industrial operations required Knowledge of specific Federal and State environmental laws and regulations required, knowledge as it applies specifically to a manufacturing industry a plus Understanding manufacturing processes Prefer data collection and analysis experience in a high volume automated manufacturing environment Instructional experience in a group business setting; outstanding presentation skills Experience developing yearly training plans and materials for all departments throughout the company Strong organizational skills and proven ability to maintain accurate, detailed records that will be audited periodically Must be able to identify and execute improvement opportunities through both process improvements and system improvements Ability to take ownership and responsibility with little direction Ability to effectively train people outside their work group Proven ability to work collaboratively with others, friendly and personable Preference will be given to qualified local candidates SOFTWARE/COMPUTER SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: Intermediate level of knowledge in basic hardware and software using of a variety of different computer operating systems such as Microsoft Office Work, Excel, OneNote, PowerPoint, Visio, Google Workspace, Outlook/Gmail and web-site software required Has the ability to learn new software systems and data management systems quickly Proficient keyboarding and typing skills DISCLAIMER: The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this job.
