Job Description:
Job/Position DescriptionThe Quality Assurance Specialist IV,
SystemsImprovement Specialist, oversees and coordinates the
development andimplementation of the SSLCand#146;s Quality
Improvement Plans (QIPs),Corrective Action Plans (CAPs), and
monitoring processes. Reviewsreports to analyze data and evaluate
trends. Oversees and reviews thequality and accuracy of action
plans developed to improve systems andprocesses and provides
recommendations for improvement. Participates inQuality
Assurance/Quality Improvement (QAQI) council, IncidentManagement
Review Team (IMRT) and other committees. Provides supervisionand
oversight of external and internal reviews, such as the
settlementagreement review process, and quality review team
process. Providestechnical guidance and assistance prior, during
and after external andinternal reviews. Facilitates and coordinates
review of monitoringreports and coordinates response. Ensures
reports and files are updatedand retained in accordance with
federal, state, and local regulationsand the needs of the SSLC.
Develops, updates and conducts training forstaff at various levels
related to quality assurance and improvementpolicies, procedures,
processes and priorities. Contributes to improvingthe quality of
services at the SSLC by participating in and#147;buddyhomeand#148;
process, participating in discipline specific meetings
andconducting special projects as assigned. As appointed by the
SSLCDirector, serves as the Quality Assurance Director (QAD) in the
absenceof the QAD and as administrator on duty (AOD) in the on-call
rotation.Performs other work as assigned. Works under the minimal
supervision ofthe Quality Assurance Director, with extensive
latitude for the use ofinitiative and independent
judgment.Essential Job FunctionsAttends workon a regular basis and
may be required to work a specific shift scheduleor, at times, even
a rotating schedule, extended shift and/or overtimein accordance
with agency leave policy. Serves as administrator on dutyin on-call
rotation, as assigned.Oversees and coordinates thedevelopment and
implementation of the SSLCand#146;s Quality ImprovementPlans
(QIPs), Corrective Action Plans (CAPs), and monitoring
processes.Reviews data and provides technical assistance and
support to disciplinecoordinators in analysis, identification of
salient points, summarizingfindings, and developing
recommendations/next steps to promoteachievement of goals. Promotes
an interdisciplinary approach byfacilitating the collaboration of
various departments in the developmentand implementation of plans.
Conducts monthly meetings with disciplinesto review QIPs, CAPs,
monitoring processes, and initiatives to determinestatus and
identify barriers to timely completion. Works with staff toidentify
and modify their quality assurance procedures and plans basedon
barriers, challenges and/or lack of meaningful progress.
Activelyparticipates in the QAQI council and Incident Management
Review Team(IMRT). Reviews various reports such as QAQI
presentations and StateOffice trend reports to analyze and evaluate
trends. Evaluates thequality of SSLC improvement plans presented to
assist in determining ifthe goals, indicators and actions steps
effectively address targeted andidentified areas in need of
improvement and contain all the requiredelements. Resolves any
identified issues in collaboration with thesubject matter experts
to improve the plans. Reviews and evaluatesdocuments submitted by
subject matter experts for
