We Are Hiring:

Ascension Providence Hospital has an opening for a PRN/As needed Phlebotomist on their team! This is an excellent opportunity for someone who loves working in a very busy lab and looking for a flexible schedule.

Work Schedule: This is a PRN/As Needed role and the hours could be Monday and Friday 0400-0800 or 1230-1600 and weekends holidays 0400-1230 or 1230-2100 as determined by staffing needs.

Location:6901 Medical Pkwy, Waco, TX 76712

Collect and process blood specimens for testing and perform multiple clerical and processing functions.

• May draw and collect blood samples according to policy. Receive, centrifuge, accession, process and transport specimens. Verify all related records.
• Work pending lists, order add-on tests, and resolve duplicate orders.
• Set up instruments. Maintain, clean, and sterilize equipment and work area following safety, cleanliness, and infection control procedures.
• Perform clerical duties which may include answering phones, reviewing EKGs, collecting patient demographic data for patient registration, ordering tests, ABNs, data entry and filing.

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider preferred.
• Certification specializing in Phlebotomy credentialed from the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP-BOC) preferred.
• Phlebotomy Tech preferred.
• Medical Laboratory Assistant credentialed from the American Medical Technologists (AMT) preferred.
• Medical Laboratory Assistant credentialed from the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP-BOC) preferred.
• Tech credentialed from the American Society of Phlebotomy Technicians, all issuing authorities, preferred.

Education:

• High school diploma or GED required.

Phlebotomy experience preferred.
