Your OpportunityThis is a Production Support role focusing on site reliability engineering (SRE) supporting Schwab Bank and Cashiering applications. The Level 2 Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the Application Support team will support banking and cashiering systems, including money movement, deposit products, lending, and trust products. In this business-facing role, the SME will interact with internal and external teams, analyze and resolve issues, recommend solutions, and promote support strategies. The position emphasizes increasing application reliability and stability through process improvements, defining and managing service level objectives, monitoring performance, and managing changes.What you have

• 2+ years of domain knowledge in Cashiering and Money Movement applications
• 1-2 years of Schwab technology experience as a contractor or employee
• Ability to troubleshoot complex issues across applications, platforms, and infrastructure
• Strong problem-solving skills with data analysis capabilities
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
• Ability to build relationships and coordinate during outages, communicating updates effectively
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
• Knowledge of SRE principles, monitoring, service level objectives, and error budgets
• FIS application and integration knowledge: Profile, PD Teller, Code Connect, ADS
• Access and query knowledge of Schwab's CDB database
• Experience with Pivotal Cloud Foundry for deploying and managing applications
• Monitoring tools knowledge: Splunk, AppDynamics, Thousand Eyes
• Experience with Atlassian tools: Jira, Bamboo, Confluence
• Familiarity with Job Schedulers like Control-M
• SQL skills: querying, manipulation, and reporting with SQL Server and Oracle
• Experience with ITIL service management using BMC RemedyPreferred qualifications
  • 6+ years of experience in SQL Server and .NET programming
  • Knowledge of operating systems: Windows, Linux, Cloud environments (Pivotal Cloud Foundry, Google Cloud)
  • Linux OS management skills (RHEL 6, 7, 8)
  • Scripting knowledge: shell, Perl, Python, Ruby, PowerShell
  • Storage technologies: SAN & NAS
  • Understanding of network services: DNS, load balancers, VPNs, firewalls, proxies
