Description:Job Title: Specialist, Software EngineerJob Code: IMS20221506-84279Job Location: Waco, TxJob Description:A Specialist Software Engineer will be responsible for software development for Linux/Windows, and embedded (real-time) applications. Applications are primarily digital intercommunication, military avionics, and mission systems. Qualified candidates must be hard working, technically competent, possess pride in ownership and a good work ethic, possess good interpersonal skills and decision making/critical thinking skills, and adaptable to change. Sets the highest ethical standards for self and others. Expected to provide input into new products/processes and implement operational plans.Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in an appropriate engineering discipline (Software Engineering or Computer Science)
• Minimum of 4 years related work experience (2yrs with Master's in relevant field)
• Must have U.S. Citizenship
• Ability to obtain and maintain SECRET security clearance
• Experience with software development and scripting languages
• Knowledgeable with computer operating systems
• Experience mentoring teams to work together with functions from several departments to facilitate and execute a proposed project plan Preferred Skills (beyond required):Software Engineering candidates with experience in one or more of the following is preferred:
  • High level of familiarity with software patterns and modern design methodology
  • Experience with UML or other object modeling tools
  • Experience doing software development on Windows and/or Linux based platforms
  • Familiarity with software lifecycle process
  • DoD Clearance
  • C/C++ experience
  • SE Linux
  • QT and/or DDS experience
  • Experience working in an embedded system environment
  • Familiarity with developing software to meet cybersecurity related software requirements/constraints
  • Multithreaded programming experience
  • Familiarity with network architectures and communication protocols
