The eScreen Software Engineering Tech Lead is a full-stack developer lead and coach who contributes their expertise and practice of software development to high performing eScreen Agile teams. - This individual must demonstrate an aptitude for team communication and cooperation as well as contribute to enterprise level technology/architecture. Key responsibilities include innovative development solutions, design, and best practices applied to user-focused sustainable software solutions. - As members of an Agile environment, individuals are also responsible for upholding and leading core principles, practices, and values, including continuous delivery, continuous improvement, self-organization, adaptive planning, value driven development, LEAN, SCRUM, and KANBAN. Core values include a growth-mindset, team-orientation, able to get along with others, and an ability to deal with ambiguity.WHAT YOU'LL DODemonstrate exceptional knowledge of development methodologies, software design and design patterns, integration standards as well as its applicability at coding and testing cyclesDemonstrate proficient knowledge of application architecture and architecture constructs as it connects to the enterprise architectureIdentify and set software development standards and best practicesDevelop, lead, and implement technology solutions across our cross-functional teamsParticipate in and lead peer/code reviewsDemonstrate exceptional knowledge of software engineering best practices such as: versioning and versioning control, software packaging and software release managementExceptional at component and unit testing of following standard practices and methodologiesExceptional at working problems of moderate to difficult scope where analysis of situations or data requires review of a variety of factorsExceptional at triage or analysis of situations for production supportExceptional utilizing the technologies and domain knowledge with the delivery of developed components or integrated componentsExcel with on time delivery with minimal supervisionCollaborate closely with members of a scrum team to ensure shared responsibility among the team for the overall efforts that they have committed to.Top notch communication skills. Experience with distributed teams is a plus.Interact with users as necessary to clarify requirements and take ownership for the quality of software.With an agile mindset, break larger projects into smaller ones that can be delivered iteratively.Problem solve and make decisions; understand and analyze complex issues, anticipate risks and propose workable solutions.Prioritize work based on benefit and project timelines.Comfortable working with existing toolsets while simultaneously bringing new ideas and approaches into the team.Ability to explain technical ideas in non-technical ways when communicating with stakeholdersMaintain traceability between requirements, designs, implementation, and testingResponsible for application development activities including design, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation on assigned projects. Projects are of varied complexity and size. Supports other software teams such as integration engineers, database engineers, product owners, scrum masters and quality assurance teamsSeasoned professional contributor with responsibility for an advanced area of work in the professional fieldProvides training for entry-level programmers and evaluates/recommends changes in proceduresMentors team members in software development best practicesAs directed, may assume technical lead role on projects and may provide technical direction to a small group of application programmersMinimal travel will be required for this positionEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRINGRequiredBachelor's degree in Computer Science, or related degree, or equivalent work experienceBackground in enterprise web application programmingMS-SQL experience.NET (C#), extensive, proven work with ASP.NET and MVCDemonstrated ability to set and meet tight deadlines and function well under pressureAbility to work in a dynamic and fast paced environmentStrong problem-solving skillsWorking knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, etc.Knowledge of cloud computing such as Kubernetes, Docker, and AzureKnowledge of emerging technologies such as Angular, React, Microservices, and Feature FlagsEffective communication (verbal + written)Creativity and innovationPreferred8+ years of software development in a team environment6+ years enterprise software development with Microsoft stackTeam Lead experience with coordinating developersExperience with front end UI design and usability designExperience with Team Foundation Server/Azure Dev-Ops and MS-BuildJavaScript, JQueryMCSD or other Microsoft certificationsWHAT WE OFFER At Abbott, you can have a good job that can grow into a great career.
