Nuclear Medicine Tech Location: Round Rock, TX Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,946 per week Shift Information: Days - 5 days x 8 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/9/2026 About the Position Job Title: Nuclear Medicine Technologist Profession: Nuclear Medicine Tech Specialty: Nuclear Medicine Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 8 Hours AM Hours per Shift: 40 Experience: Minimum of 1 year experience License: ARRT (N), CNMT Certifications: BLS (AHA Only) Description: The Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs nuclear medicine procedures, PET, and theranostic procedures on ambulatory and hospital patients as requested by a physician or other licensed provider. This work is performed for the diagnosis of disease and injury in accordance with established protocols. Quality Assurance is a key responsibility, ensuring high-quality nuclear medicine, PET, and theranostic procedures are performed according to exam protocol in a timely manner. The technologist systematically evaluates the quality of imaging procedures and follows established standards and procedures. They maintain equipment by performing quality control as required by imaging manufacturers or applicable regulatory bodies. Collaboration with engineers and physicists is essential to ensure optimal operational capabilities of equipment. Caring Practices involve effective communication with patients to identify service requirements and establish rapport. The technologist instructs and communicates with patients and their families regarding the test to be performed and assesses the patient's ability to tolerate the exam. Patient Safety is prioritized by thoroughly explaining procedures to put patients at ease. They protect patients and team members by adhering to safety requirements and infection control protocols. Preparing patients and areas for procedures is essential, including proper positioning and use of immobilization devices. Adhering to radiation safety protocols is crucial; this includes selecting the correct radioactive drug and screening patients appropriately for pregnancy status. Radiopharmaceuticals and adjunctive medications are administered safely per protocol. Education regarding radiation safety techniques is provided to patients pre and post-exam or treatment. Collaboration involves reporting issues to leadership or appropriate departments. The technologist assists in maintaining supplies inventory and ordering radiopharmaceuticals for patient care and quality control. They work collaboratively with colleagues, nursing partners, medical staff, and Radiologists. Ensuring accurate transfer of patient images for clinical review is a vital part of the role. Key success factors include the ability to observe changes in patients' medical conditions and communicate effectively with the healthcare team. Maintaining a calm and helpful attitude under stress and taking appropriate steps to resolve issues are important. Ensuring customer satisfaction by limiting wait times and providing courteous service is expected. The technologist plays a role in training new team members and students. Adherence to policies, procedures, and system workflows, including record management and electronic medical documentation, is required. General computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic communication, are necessary. Flexibility to take call, if required, is part of the position's responsibilities.
