all.SummaryFacilitates cause analysis of actual or near miss events
throughout the organization. Provides leadership, education, and
mentoring to clinical stakeholders. Assists frontline managers
/leaders with planning, developing, implementing coordination and
evaluating operation and patient safety activities of the
department. Facilitates multidisciplinary teams to achieve
measurable and sustainable improvements in process and systems
related to patient safety.Responsibilities
- Coordinates and facilitates the investigation, review and
disposition of patient safety events though interviews, medical
record and literature reviews and utilization of appropriate
investigative tools.
- Utilizes high level organizational skills to manage
projects.
- Serves as an expert in safety science and patient safety
processes and outcomes to assist clinical and organizational
stakeholders with information to improve patient safety.
- Works, in partnership, with clinical stakeholders; aggregates
and analyzes data; identifies opportunities to improve patient
safety; identifies trends and patterns related to near miss and
actual events; develops conclusions and makes recommendations
through data presentations to appropriate committees and/or
teams.
- Takes operational responsibility for external survey completion
as it relates to Quality and Patient Safety
- Conducts special projects / audits as assigned
- Collaborates with Accreditation and Regulatory Compliance to
support necessary processes and documentation of event
reviews.
- Services as a super user of various software systems such as,
Excel, Power Point, Word, EPIC, Visio; able to design and develop
necessary patient safety reportsOther InformationWORK EXPERIENCE
- At least 7 years of experience in a healthcare or clinical
environment requiredEDUCATION
- BSN requiredLICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
- Current RN License
- CPPS 1 1/2 Yrs required
