UT Health at the Dell Medical School is seeking a Health Access
PartnerPurposeThe Patient Scheduler is responsible for coordinating
and scheduling patient appointments, ensuring efficient patient
flow and optimal use of clinical resources. This role typically
reports to the Patient Access Manager and works closely with
physicians, nurses, and administrative staff. Peer roles include
Patient Access Representatives. The Patient Scheduler plays a vital
role in enhancing patient satisfaction and operational efficiency
by managing appointment schedules, verifying insurance information,
and communicating with patients regarding their
appointments.ResponsibilitiesSchedule, cancel, and reschedule
patient appointments.Coordinate with healthcare providers to ensure
availability.Manage and prioritize appointment requests based on
urgency.Communicate appointment details, changes, and cancellations
to patients.Provide information about clinic services and
procedures.Insurance VerificationVerify patient insurance
information prior to appointments.Communicate with insurance
companies to confirm coverage.Ensure accurate billing and
collections.Update and manage patient records in the electronic
medical record (EMR) system.Ensure confidentiality and accuracy of
