that engage, inspire, and connect our community. The Stagehand
assists in and facilitates the load-in, run, maintenance, load out,
and changeover of Zach Theater productions and events in a safe,
efficient, and professional manner. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Assist in
load-in of scenery and properties Lead soft goods changeover and
preparatory work as assigned Assist in rigging as directed Assist
in maintenance of scenery, props, and paint, as assigned Assist in
preparing performance space for rehearsals and performances,
including sweeping and mopping Assist in tear-down and shutdown of
facilities, rehearsals, and performance spaces Works as deck crew
on shows assisting in scenes shifts, fly systems, etc. Participate
in load out and changeover of scenery and props, as assigned
Maintain all stage ops equipment and inventory Maintain all
production storage areas in coordination with other production
departments Maintain safe and professional workplace Perform other
duties as assigned in support of production needs and departmental
goals Requirements: EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Minimum of one year
of professional technical theatre or entertainment industry work
experience Collegiate or professional training in theatre or
entertainment preferred Must be willing to acquire and maintain
State of Texas Special Effects/Pyro Operator’s License KNOWLEDGE,
SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of theatrical production processes
Understanding of backstage work process and protocol Demonstrated
ability to use basic hand and power tools Ability to operate
counterweight fly system Understanding of theatrical rigging and
knots Knowledge of safety regulations and best practice Willingness
and ability to work within a rigorous time schedule Ability to work
independently or as part of a team Willingness to learn and adapt
to new situations Ability to set priorities Ability to communicate
orally and in writing Ability to interact with all levels of the
organization Ability to creatively problem-solve and troubleshoot
Builds Collaborative Relationships Manages Through Processes and
Systems Deals with Change Effectively Ability to perform all work
with a direct reflection of the vision, mission, and values of Zach
Theater PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT: This is a
campus-based, on-site role. The physical demands described here are
representative of those that must be met by an employee to
successfully perform the essential functions of this position.

Ability to lift, push, pull, or maneuver up to 70 lbs repeatedly,
alone or with assistance Comfortable with repetitive working on
ladders, mechanical lifts, or other high places over 15’ Must have
reliable transportation and the ability to work a flexible
schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays and/or on call
based on production needs Required to work in high demand, safety
sensitive environments under show conditions and changeovers
Overtime is typically worked during technical rehearsal weeks and
other high volume production times The noise level in this work
environment is typically moderate and can be high. ORGANIZATIONAL
RELATIONSHIPS: Reports to: Stage Operations Supervisor Supervises
(if any): None Supports: Production, Education, Rentals Peer
collaboration/communicates with: Production Staff PAY: Beginning
pay starting at $19-20 per hour commensurate with experience and
qualifications. New hires are typically brought into the
organization between the minimum and midpoint of the range posted
depending upon qualifications, years of experience in a similar
role, internal equity, and the budgeted amount for the role. This
role will regularly be scheduled to work overtime during technical
rehearsal weeks. All offers of employment are conditional pending
