Technician – Contract to Hire Location: Fort Worth, TX Pay: Up to
$30.00/hour Type: Contract to hire We are seeking an experienced
Commercial Maintenance Technician for a contract-to-hire
opportunity supporting multiple commercial properties in the Fort
Worth area. This role is responsible for inspecting, maintaining,
and troubleshooting building systems to ensure all facilities
remain safe, operational, and well-maintained. Key Responsibilities
Inspect and maintain all building systems; troubleshoot issues as
they arise. Complete all work orders promptly and document actions
taken. Perform daily property walks to ensure proper function of
mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, life safety, and security
systems. Conduct preventive maintenance on HVAC equipment,
including RTUs. Perform periodic roof inspections and keep all roof
drains clean and clear. Inspect restrooms weekly to ensure proper
operation of toilets, faucets, soap dispensers, etc. Oversee
scheduled vendor work and communicate issues to the Property
Manager. Replace damaged or stained ceiling tiles as needed.
Replace common area lighting and report any recurring issues.
Communicate daily with the Property Manager regarding updates,
findings, and concerns. Complete inspection lists assigned by the
Property Manager. Check all building doors for proper operation.
Inspect exterior lighting weekly, report outages to vendors and
management. Monitor irrigation systems for leaks, damaged heads,
and scheduling, coordinate repairs. Check elevators daily; test
elevator phones monthly to ensure proper function. Keep all vacant
suites clean, organized, and show ready. Provide submeter readings
each month as requested. Basic Hiring Criteria High school diploma
or equivalent required. EPA Universal certification preferred.
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in high rise building maintenance.
3–5 years of HVAC experience with RTUs from 5–50 tons; EMS system
experience is a plus. Knowledge of A/C units, circuits, mechanical
systems, VAV boxes, thermostats, heaters, and safety procedures.
Experience with pneumatic systems and calibrating thermostats.
Ability to perform routine and preventive HVAC maintenance. Light
electrical experience, including bulb and ballast replacement.
Plumbing experience: unclog sinks/toilets, reinstall toilets,
repair/replace flush valves and faucets. BGTA ZIPTA BGSF is an
